Pisces was built in fibreglass by Tim Heaney and crew at Frecheville Heaney Boats in 2022 in using
the deck and hull moulds from Yappa, the last timber fishing boat built in Paynesville in the 1960’s.
She has been set up for sailing and is fitted with a pivoting stainless centre plate and a 5.8m Hoop
Pine bird’s mouth mast set in a tabernacle, 110mm at the base and tapering to 90mm. Pisces carries
1000kg of lead ballast sealed under her floors. A final rig and sail plan is being worked on.
Internal seats and other trim including the transom insert is Sapele Mahogany timber. She is also
fitted with a traditional folding dodger and full weather covers.
A truly classic design built by master craftsmen which carries on the tradition of the lakes fishing
boats.
