Owned by only its second owners in nearly three decades, this vessel boasts a rich history of success in Classic Boat Regattas. Originally built to the design of Ian Oughtred, it has proven its prowess by clinching victory in two regattas. With a planing hull engineered to rival or even surpass the speed of Couta Boats, especially on a reach in winds exceeding 15 knots, it stands as a testament to both design and craftsmanship.
Constructed by Raymond Island resident David Clark, who later pursued a professional boat-building career alongside James Frecheville, the boat underwent minor alterations under Frecheville's supervision. While initially residing in Paynesville for its formative years, it has since become a familiar presence, participating in early Classic Boat rallies on three occasions, securing the racing trophy twice. Its enduring connection with the original builder, who sailed on it alongside his son in events over two decades ago, underscores its enduring legacy.
