Rachael has been in the Blandford family since February 1985, where she was purchased from the Hawkesbury River in Sydney. After purchasing her, Perc Blandford refitted her as she was very tired inside and out, however he still kept her in keeping with that classic look. Now the history of her is a little sketchy, however we believe she was built in 1945-6 for a champion jockey named Athol Mulley who won the Sydney jockey premiership in the same year. An ex-owner was once in Paynesville and said he believed it was built by someone Baird?
We have also been told she could have been built by Hayes and son. Whoever it was, it has been a great comfortable family boat on the Gippsland Lakes for the last 33 years!
