Nand V was originally called Wintersun and was designed by Fred Fleming and built by Bert Ellis at Norman Creek Brisbane. Commissioned by Dave Kussmann in 1986, she was sold during build to Brian Pettit and launched 1988. She worked the Queensland coast under several owners, and was briefly in Darwin in 2001 working as a charter vessel before undergoing a minor conversion around 2007, which included removing all fishing gear and a total repaint.
The interior layout is still in its original configuration, with all accommodation in the forepeak. Nand V is powered by a Fiat Iveco 821 220 HP motor, 3:1 reduction gearbox swinging a 800mm dia 4 bladed prop.  She is fitted with a steadying sail, which works quite well in a seaway.
Owned by the Chapman family since September 2010, Nand V is usually moored at the KMYC, Cottage point, just north of Sydney and spends most of the time cruising in Cowan Creek. In the last 2 years we have completed 2 trips to the Whitsundays and in 2023 participated in the Wooden Boat festival in Hobart and visited Port Davey and Bathurst Harbour.
