Lola is a classic Waarschip 725 with a gentle soul and a proud Australian story. She was built in Sandringham in 1976. Her lineage traces back to the Waarschip tradition that began in the Netherlands, where these yachts were originally designed and amateur-built from precision plans. In their homeland, Waarschips quickly earned a reputation for being light, fast, and beautifully balanced. They achieved notable success in club racing and national sailing championships during the 1960s and 70s.
Lovingly and fully restored to her original form, Lola once again reflects the clean lines, warmth, and purposeful performance that made Waarschip so admired on both racecourses and cruising grounds. Her restoration journey has been a labour of love, and we are delighted to share her story as she sails into the Paynesville Classic Boat Festival - a true celebration of craftsmanship, heritage, and the enduring joy of classic wooden yachts.
