Eden, 1875, Traditional Lakes boat
Length: 8.8m, Beam: 2.1m, Draft: 1m
Propulsion: Inboard
Construction: Timber
Owner: David Campbell
Now 150 years old, Eden was thought to be built on the Gippsland Lakes and has had several owners. She is constructed of Kauri timber. About 30-40 years ago it was owned by Fisherman Dick Davidson in Lakes Entrance. Around 25 years ago the stern was changed from an hourglass stern to the current fantail stern by Ian Bott in Nungurner.
It sat on a swing mooring off Nungurner jetty for about 20 years. About 5 years ago it was purchased and taken to Lakes Entrance with some restoration and paintwork.
We purchased Eden 3 years ago and recently replaced the motor ---she now has a new Kubota Beta 25 hp diesel .
We understand Eden has a similar design “sister” boat in Metung owned by Geoff Cross.
