Owner: Elizabeth Binet
Lizzie 3 is a Eun Mara, designed by Iain Oughtred. She was owner built, a process that took several years and several backyards as we moved three times in that period. She was built using portable power hand tools. The laminates were cut with a power saw and dressed with a hand plane. The bronze fittings were cast at a local foundry and the keel was cast in the backyard over a fire. The bilge boards were professionally cut and the sails made by a sailmaker. Rigging, by the Owner, is an ongoing process. An inboard diesel motor was installed, rather than a petrol outboard as in the plan.
