The H.M.C Laura was constructed from plans in ‘The Expectant Father’s Cradle Boat Book’ by Laura’s father, Michael. She is constructed of huon pine and red cedar.
Laura slept in the cradle for the first 10 months of her infancy. At the point she was able to sit up it became a rocking boat to play in. It is now mounted on the wall as a display.
The red cedar hull planks were supplied by Laura’s Nonno, Joe, and the stand is a pair of Admiralty anchors made from Tasmanian Oak and Merbau by her Grandfather, Phillip.
